PRESERVATION OF THE MARINE ECO-SYSTEM

Since 2022, Sea For Tomorrow empowered by BioNike has been supporting the non-profit organisation Worldrise and the Allenza 30x30 Italia to protect 30 per cent of Italy’s seas by 2030, carrying out special projects each year dedicated to the conservation of the Mediterranean:
- Protecting biodiversity and safeguarding the marine ecosystem in Italian marine protected areas
- Training future custodians of the Mediterranean Sea’s natural heritage
- Scientific research and community awareness-raising activities
Since 2025, we have strengthened this commitment by becoming a Funding Partner of the Allenza 30x30 Italia to take even more concrete action.
In 2026, we supported the recovery of 300 kg of abandoned fishing nets (so-called ‘ghost nets’) in the Capo Mortola Marine Protected Area, in Liguria: a crucial operation to clear the seabed of plastic waste that threatens marine habitats.

ENHANCEMENT OF FEMALE TALENT
We believe in female talent and in the value that women bring to the world of work. We are committed to doing our part to build a world where women can fully express their talents and bring their full value to the world of work. The results we have achieved in our market have been largely due to the energy, determination and sensitivity of women who have found their professional fulfillment in our company, helping to make BioNike the leading brand in Dermocosmetics in Italy.

SUPPORT FOR SOCIETY
We regularly support our local community, and in particular the most vulnerable members, through donations and practical assistance.
We supported the campaign organised by the Differenza Donna APS Association, an organisation committed to preventing and combating gender-based violence and to supporting women and children who are victims of violence.
We have supported the LOTO Care Centre, a space dedicated to welcoming female cancer patients within the gynaecological oncology ward at Sant’Orsola Hospital in Bologna. In November ’25, we also organised a BioNike Day at the Care Centre: two BioNike beauty experts conducted make-up consultations, offering practical advice on skincare during treatment. At the end of the session, participants received complimentary Defence Color products used during the session.
We launched ‘Shapes of Art empowered by BioNike’, a project through which we support female talent in the art world:
- in 2025, in collaboration with the Naples Theatre School of Acting
- in 2026, in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, and the launch of the ‘From Matter to Skin’ sculpture competition, open to all students on the Academy’s Sculpture course, alongside a donation aimed at improving teaching facilities and equipment.
The community farming project at La Casa degli Orti in Lainate is continuing. The initiative involves the care and maintenance of the vegetable garden, which has been granted to ICIM, by people with disabilities from the Il Grappolo social cooperative.
IN-HOUSE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY

We continuously invest in our in-house Research & Development Laboratory to promote a constant study of the health and well-being of the skin and stimulate the continuous innovation of our formulations. Our researchers are dedicated to developing products that are unique in the market, created according to our distinctive Philosophy of Withouts for the utmost respect for sensitive skin.

PARTNERSHIP WITH DERMATOLOGISTS

SUPPORT FOR RESEARCH INSTITUTES AND SCIENTIFIC SOCIETIES

We support leading research institutions that can contribute to fundamental advances in skin and human health.
Since 2023, with Woman in Research empowered by BioNike we have been funding a scholarship dedicated to medical research, supporting the career development of a young female researcher, in collaboration with the IEO-MONZINO ETS Foundation as part of the ‘Partners for Research’ programme:
- In 2025, the scholarship was awarded to Dr Marica Rosaria Ippolito, who works in the field of experimental oncology. Her project focuses on the study of aneuploidy in cancer, a condition characterised by an abnormal number of chromosomes found in over 90 per cent of solid tumours.
- In 2026, BioNike is supporting a project by the Microbiome and Antitumour Immunity Laboratory at the European Institute of Oncology, coordinated by Dr Luigi Nezi, dedicated to studying the role of the gut microbiome in the response to immunotherapy in patients with melanoma, by funding a research grant for Dr Arianna Zancuoghi.
We collaborate continuously with external specialist centres and university hospitals to support our ongoing research into formulations and to test the efficacy of our products.
In the two-year period 2024–2025, we have established a collaboration with the San Raffaele Institute in Milan to develop clinical trials and with the Italian Society of Aesthetic Medicine (SIME) for scientific outreach projects.
